June 12th is National Women Veterans Recognition Day of the anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act signing, 2023 is particularly significant as it is the 75TH ANNIVERSARY of that groundbreaking legislation for America’s military women, granting women a permanent place and an opportunity for a career in the nation’s military. Veterans Heritage Site Foundation will be initiating their Women Appreciation Week on June 10th at the Honoring Veterans Day, A Women’s Veterans Dinner on June 11 with our Women’s Committee who sponsors the East Tennessee Women Veterans Group, helping with the American Legion Post 21 Women Veterans Dinner on June 13th in Rogersville, Women Veterans Day at Ramsey House on June 16th and a women’s hike on June 17th in GSMNP. We want to thank all our women veterans for their service to our country. We have received a proclamation by State Senator Becky Massey and many other State Senators.
